Industrial Batteries, Chargers & Filling Systems

When you're doing your business or industrial activities, you like to have the flexibility to do your work with reliable power sources like industrial batteries. However, problems can occur with these batteries. That's why Multi Chariots Élévateurs offers various industrial battery services!

Have you noticed a loss of power in your battery? We can give it a shock treatment and give it back its maximum remaining life. We start with an analysis of the situation and then recommend a series of treatments (neutralization, cleaning, desulfation, balancing, cycling, acidification, etc.).

Battery Inspection

In the commercial or industrial environment, batteries in handling machines are central. Without this equipment, activity is slowed down or even stopped. That's why, during our repairs and maintenance, we inspect the batteries for forklifts.

Battery Repair

No matter what part of your industrial battery is faulty, our team has the skills and equipment to perform a repair that will restore the integrity of your battery!

Do I Have the Right Charger for My Battery?

First, the charger must have the right voltage for your battery. The most standard is 24 volts, 36 volts and 48 volts. To calculate the output amperage, you need between 12 and 18% of the total battery amperage. A bad charger is the main source of battery problems. We have access to all types of chargers.

Example of the Calculation:

  • You have a 1000 ampH battery
  • We want a charger between 12 and 18% of the 1000 ampH min: 1000 x 0,12 = 120 ampH or max: 1000 x 0,18 = 180 ampH
  • Your charger must be between the two

If your charger is below 120 ampH, your battery will need more charging time, the water/acid mixing will be laborious and your battery will tend to sulfate.

If your charger is above 180 ampH, your battery will cook. It will evaporate a lot of water and over time, your water/acid mixture will become weak, as you will be required to continually add water. In addition, this can potentially cause significant physical damage to the battery.

New or Reconditioned Battery

We recommend a new battery for all forklifts that will be used for more than 6 hours per day. Our new batteries come with a 5-year warranty. The manufacturing time is usually between 7 and 10 days, depending on the volume of our orders.

For reconditioned batteries, we only use 5 hours and more. The warranty for reconditioned batteries is 18 months. The manufacturing time is very variable; it depends on the availability of cells and pre-existing orders.

Automatic Water-Filling System and Indicator Light

What Is a Battery Refill System?

The system simplifies the difficult task of filling industrial batteries. The system consists of automatic shut-off valves, interconnected with tubing, which replaces existing vent plugs. A quick coupling allows the system to be connected to a water supply. Once connected, water flows into each cell until it reaches the correct level. A flow indicator built into the water supply tells the operator when filling is complete. The entire process takes only 30 seconds per battery.

What Can a Battery-Filling System Do for You?

  • Save time: take a 15-minute task and turn it into a 30-second task!
  • Improve safety: fill batteries without removing vent caps to avoid acid burns, damaged clothing and harmful fumes.
  • Optimize battery life: overfilled and underfilled batteries result in loss of capacity. The system fills to the right level every time, giving you optimal battery life.
  • The indicator light changes from green to red when your battery needs to be filled.
